Battle of Dorrin

[History, War]

Background

During the year 3322, a new threat took shape through the apparent union of all the pirates and bandits who were grouped under the banner of the so-called Pirate King, apparently a Blackwing Warlord.

This growing army of pirates increased the losses usually caused on the periphery trade in an alarming way, taking advantage of the absence of the mercenary clans that were in the parallel dimension, tracing the clan Xeon.
The forces of the Clarke Federation soon ended up overwhelmed, unable to attend all the calls for help of the victims of the growing wave of piracy, so that resorted to the mercenary clan troops that were not highlighted in the parallel dimension.

However, when an early approach to the pirates was achieved, which in normal circumstances would have allowed the recovery of the stolen goods, it was found that the pirates employed a combination of a shadowy gateway network forcing the travel through routes of narrow canyons and defiles to an encrypted gateway, a cunning strategy that nullified the involvement of medium or heavy Mechs, frequently used by the mercenary clans.

When the situation became alarming, the clans called the bulk of their contingents back, to counter the pirate army.

The combined action of the intelligence gathered by the Clarke Federation and the mercenary clans, promptly allowed to dispatch the pirate raiders and begin to trace its nucleus of operations and attempt the capture of the mysterious Pirate king.

The Battle

In the middle of the year, the mercenary Clans were successful in the interception and destruction of the majority of the pirate raids, and the track of the Niode matrix signature allowed them to route the pirate network towards the very Pirate king's Headquarters, in the planet DZK314-G, also known as Dorrin 4, a former mining colony turned to be the Pirate King's operation base, hid in the deep fringe.

When the first mercenary clans came to Dorrin 4, they found an abrupt planet, whose uneven surface facilitated the ambushes of the pirates, which turned out to be the only significant defense the mercenaries could find, since the pirates had not built defenses, perhaps confident that their hideout could not be located.

After a dirty combat, the first clans could impose their supremacy, opening the way to the bulk of the remaining clans, so that with the arrival of reinforcements, the routes to the main base of the pirates was open.

An immense maze of cargo containers received the mercenaries, eager to capture the problematic pirate leader. An authentic guerrilla warfare began in the artificial streets, in the midst of the immense pile accumulated by the pirates, where the mercenaries had to make their way from street to street until they reached the command center.

After hours of fatiguing combat, a Spitfire wearing the Blackwing banner, the Mech of the Pirate King, was spotted, but it was not possible to capture him, since the pirate leader had secured an escape route through a new encrypted Gateway.

As the ground was secured by the mercenary clans, the Clarke Federation forces arrived to take control of the planet and begin inventorizing the stolen goods to proceed to its return to the rightful owners.
