Affiliation (AFF)

[Mecha Clans and Factions]

AFF (acronym of "Affiliation") is a large Mercenary Mecha Faction created and led by Commander Robert C. Goetz with the support of the Disciples' Cmdr. Stoner Stewart.

The banner of the AFF was first used in 3267, during the Clan War III by the Death Metal AFF Clan.

Death's Collectors AFF/ year 3268
The Death's tag was added into the clan names due to their bizarre tradition to collect the burnt skulls of the unfortunate pilots they defeated.

Soon, they standardized the Affiliation clan names, keeping the "Death's [clan name] {AFF}" pattern.

By 3272 the glory of the early AFF victories had brought an increase in recruitment as skilled pilots from all corners of the galaxy scrambled to join the AFF forces.

During the AFF’s second year of formation, another leader grew from the ranks: Scott Abbott. Abbott was promoted to the rank of lieutenant where he continued to develop his command of the battlefield in his new role. As his experience and skills grew AFF became more and more successful, leading to a further uptake in young talented pilots looking to join the ranks of the AFF. This resulted in Abbott’s rise to second in command of the AFF.

With such strength in numbers the AFF sent spies into the Dr. Drake Cloning Facilities with the aim of stealing Drake’s research to build their own clone army. Although many pilots were caught and turned into laboratory rats for gruesome experimentation, a few pilots achieved success. These successes allowed the AFF scientists to develop their own cloning tech. Technology that was then used to clone many of their top commanders which allowed the AFF to maintain a lead over many of their rival clans which included the RND, the Brotherhood, the now disbanded War Machine and the Black Star clans.

In 3304 the AFF split into two separated factions as a result of issues in the AFF Staff. This split created the now legendary Dragon Faction which is commanded by Abbott.

Soon, a fierce rivalry rose between those who stayed loyal to the AFF flag and their former faction pilots who now fought under the Dragon's Flag. As many of the former AFF elite in the middle and lower divisions joined the new Dragons, AFF fell into a rapid decline in which only their Core Clan, the Death's Collectors have continued to uphold the winning ways of the old AFF with great success in the third and fourth divisions. Meanwhile the remaining AFF clans still fight hard to recover their former glory.
